Starting Spanish translation

Postby i92guboj on Sat Nov 15, 2008 2:01 am

Hello,

I am starting the Spanish translation of Xt7, just wanted to let everyone know. I will keep you informed. I hope this is the right subforum for this, if not, feel free to move it elsewhere and forgive me.

Cheers.

To kokoko3k

Hi, it's me again, i92guboj

I forgot my login password, I've requested another one, but while it reaches my mailbox I wanted to ask a question.

I've finished the translation for the most part (sorry for the delay, but I've had more work than I thought these last months). I want to test it, I wanted to know where can I configure the language that will be used. When I press the play button on gambas xt7 appears, but everything is still in english (bear in mind that I know nothing about gambas and similar things, I am a C guy which uses mainly text editors).

I've looked around in the config dialogs but probably it's my fault that I can't find where to configure this. Or maybe it relies in some kde-ish thingie (bear also in mind that I don't run kde). So I'd like to know how to force one or another language.

I know that the po file has been compiled because i can see the es.mo in the .lang directory.

Cheers and sorry again for the delay.

No problem. I already figured how to run the spanish locale from gambas.

For some reason, it ignores the LC_ALL setting. I just removed that variable from the env and put spanish (spain) as the default language on the front tab of the properties of the project, and now it works.

I will review it and make the necessary fixes. Let me know what's your preferred way for me to send you the po file once I am done (and let me know if you need anything else besides the .po file).

I can send it probably tomorrow.

Hi ya'!
It's strange it ignores your locales settings, 0.9.1 is also kde-free, it just needs qt3.x
Btw, sorry for my delay too, you can send your work to xt7player "<at>" gmail "<dot>" com
I'll review the critical parts (some keyword are mplayer specific and should not be translated).
Have you worked on the latest public (0.9.1) version?

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I read your answer here and in the Gentoo forum, now I am in the middle of something but in some hours or tomorrow (as soon as I can) I will send you the po file. I think that for the most part at least it should be ok, however as you say it's better if you can review it.

Stay tuned :)
