Since you said that it would be easy to load album covers instead of the tracks' shall we quit this test? I mean, this may be unnecessary if you're going to implement album covers, no?

I'm not even sure that you will see anything even if i implement album covers, as i didn't understood where your problem lies, burak.

what do you see instead of the cover, an empty CD or an audio icon, could you post a screen?
Are you able to set a cover manually? (don't worry, your files will not be touched)

By the way,

I don't think it's what I'm talking about. Auto-suspend is a fine convenience so I (and possibly many others) use this, but curiously in Linux even if a process is going, the computer unattended suspends after a predetermined period of time. So auto-suspens must be on, but the music player should have the ability to inhibit auto-suspens when playing. VLC and you have this option bundled with screensaver. I just need an aditional option to inhibit only the suspense.

I can't help you on this, i've never had such problems with auto suspend, if you know how to stop it you could simply add that stop command into xt7player->generaloptions->misc-> pre-command and the start command into post-command.

By the way, i installed mint with xfce into a virtualmachine, installed xt7-player from git and it is showing your covers, gambas sources is ppa-launchpad.net/nemh/gambas3/ubuntu maverick.

Ah, current git version keep the volume level across plays.

Thank you. Hadn't enabled that ppa as the xt7 ppa had gambas as well. Now enabled it (mine is oneiric, not mavirick) and upgraded all gambas packages as well as xt7 itself (3.0.1). Deleted the gambas folder in .config directory. Added and synched an album. Yet failure again. No covers.

I'm running out of ideas, really.
The only thing i could think about is that if you changed distro and the problem still won't go away, maybe it lies in the network drive (how is it mounted?)... what if you just move a (covered) flac to the local drive and change his name (important) to (say) music.flac and then drop it into the library or playlist window?
Also, the fact that you are unable to set a custom cover make me think that maybe there are some permissions problem in .config/gambas3/Xt7-Player/

...my last two shots :D

Network drive mount scheme: ciffs in fstab

Moved a covered flac to desktop and renamed it as music.flac. Deleted the gambas3 folder in .config. Added it to the library. Result: no cover.

(By the way, only directories can be added to the library, but not the files. And deleting the library and re-adding it creates duplicated files, i.e. xt7 doesn't delete really the items in the library unless I choose "update..." command.)

As for the .config/gambas3/Xt7-Player/:

Owner: burak
Folder access: Create and delete files
File access: ---

I don't know what is wrong with your system(s), but i can drag files into the library, delete them from there and adding them again without duplicates.
Giving up on this, sorry :|
